Since 1968, across the UK, individuals have been targeted by secret police due to their involvement in political activism. Citizens have been spied on, manipulated, and abused in order to undermine democratic participation in politics.

In October 2010, activists began to unmask undercover officers, who had infiltrated a cross section of social justice campaign groups. This expose resulted in significant media interest that continues with regular coverage.

Groups including Campaign Opposing Police Surveillance, Police Spies Out Of Lives, Undercover Research Group, and others continue to push for truth and justice.

In July 2015 the Home Secretary announced the Undercover Policing Inquiry, which finally started in November 2020. You can follow developments on twitter, please help amplify the call for a transparent, robust and comprehensive public inquiry.
